My favourite pub in the whole of Oxford.
With so many pubs closing, or turning into gastropubs, with high prices, minute portions, and poor service, it was great to find this "real" pub. It always has at least three real beers on tap, and changes them frequently. The food (lunchtimes and evening) is good pub-style food, with generous portions and affordable prices. The manager is always there behind the bar, and he cares about the way he runs it, so you don't get the supercilious "the customer is always wrong" types that seem to flourish in gastropubs.
the pies at the Kite are to die for! probably not the healthiest but a real treat!
