I hate going to a place that everyone gabbs on about, it bores the teeth out of my chops.

But, I have to admit that over the past 5 years, the positive comments about the 'Big Bang' have been repeated time and again.I was adamant not to go out for dinner to a place that does Bangers and mash, but I did and it was very worthwhile.

The place does bangers and mash, it does jazz and it does full English Breakfast and it does all of them very well indeed, in fact, it does most things better than any place I have been in Oxfordshire.

We went on a Thursday night as a table of 3 and were sat upstairs, although they apparently have 140 seats across 3 floors, with different standards of dining to suit your tastes in each floor - from BYO basement to smart first floor with rough and ready in between (My only dig - it's a little too rough and a little too ready, although it does suit the Big Bang's style)

We each had a trio of 3 sausages over a variety of mash, top of the trumps had to be either the Wild Boar and Pigeon or the Piri Piri Chicken sausage, although veggie friend (we all have one) said that her 3 vegetarian sausages made it bearable to be veggie in a sausage restaurant!)

The price was very reasonable, the ambience was amazing, the service great and quality of food exceptional. The promise of either their Tuesday night jazz or their full English breakfasts will get me back there very sharpish.

The Big Bang was a real find - hugely popular with locals and students alike and a great menu - try the "Big Bang" option which allows you to choose any 3 sausages from the regular menu/specials, together with a choice of 8 types of mash and 3 types of gravy.

Excellent value, and a really enjoyable evening, helped along by really attentive service. There's a good range of locally brewed beers to round it all off and a very well priced wine list.

In conclusion, The Big Bang Oxford is a great place to go, good food, good service, and a very good price. Such a great range of amazing sausages! A really good concept as well. Sausages and mash, how much more perfect can you get?!
