After reading the official View Oxford review I booked this for a friend's 'milestone' birthday dinner May 2011 and was disappointed. The decor was ok, but the model / fashion channel on the tv over the bar was tacky. The service was good and the waiter very nice although we had to flag someone down to ask for our bill at the end. We liked the live music. However, the food was a disappointment as it was mediocre at best. My friend opted for a safer bet with the chicken and it was (just) ok, but I went for the sticky beef and ginger salad and was not overly impressed. The beef was quite 'chunky' for a sticky beef salad and not very tasty and the soy dressing was too heavy for a salad. Not a lot of thought was apparent in the dish. The bok choi side dish was terrible as it was literally drowning in a sea of soy sauce. A small point is that the loo's were a bit grubby; but it's those sorts of attention to detail, or lack thereof, that signals management's thoroughness. Sadly, it's not a restaurant that I would rush back to again as I was hoping for a bit more than a 'just ok' rating and wished I had booked somewhere else for the birthday dinner.

We ate there yesterday (13th November 2009) Food excellent, staff brilliant and excellent value for money.
