Nice pub, really friendly staff which gives it a nice atmosphere.

I am a Canadian who recently dared to stop in and use the toilet in the Royal Oak. I have stopped into pubs countless times and never had a problem.

As I reached the street, the owner or manager followed me out and proceeded to berate me for my behaviour and lack of manners. I apologised and explained that I wasn't from the UK and that I didn't know.

She rudely told me I must be from Mars then. Way to go lady! I'm sure you're empty establishment is a testament to your tolerance of tourists in Oxfordshire.

Very rude unwelcoming staff! Would not visit again and would advise others not to go unless you want your head bitten off.
Far more welcoming and much more pleasant surroundings at the Bakehouse opposite where the food and staff are excellent.
