Service very polite, food excellent and prices average for the type of food served. Have visited several times this year and every time has been very good. Recommended!

Such a shame this seems to be going downhill.

Visited a few months ago and all was fine, visited about one month ago and was extremely disappointed as fish and chips used to be fab there but on this occasion it was the smallest piece of fish I've ever seen and when I mentioned it I was told fish was sold by weight and therefore would be exactly the same as what I had there before! I never knew fish was sold by weight like steak but thought this poor service and rationed food portions may have been a one off.

Visited again today taking 3 of my work colleagues.
When we arrived no one greeted us, the guy behind the bar could easily have acknowledged us and simply said 'be with you in a minute' but he said nothing.
The music cd in the background was skipping and eventually turned off so just sat in silence.
Despite it being winter and ice on the cars that morning they hadn’t lit their fire
Apart from 4 others we were the only customers yet still waited over an hour for our lunch.
When we asked for a time estimate on receiving our food we were told our dishes were difficult to cook (how hard is steak to cook!).
Eventually we received our food and were all disappointed.
We ordered steak from specials board, steak baguette, salmon risotto and pasta with a plain tomato sauce.
Risotto was bland; steak was ok nothing special and certainly not worth waiting over an hour for, pasta was terrible and salty sauce and chips with the steak were cold.
All dishes were around £9-11 so not a cheap lunch.
We were hungry so ate what we could and left, we won’t be back and won’t be able to recommend.

Excellent lunch here this week. Proper home-made burger cooked exactly how I ordered it, this place knows the difference between Medium and Medium-rare! Fantastic home-made chips. Well-kept beer and very pleasant staff. I'll be back.

AVOID the Swan unless you want slow surly service. My wife and I went here for our anniversary and were totally disappointed. We pointed out that my wife's main course was wrong and when they brought the correct dish there was no apology or explanation. The bass was cooked nicely but the rest of the dish was unimaginative and bland. I was enjoying my main course until the waitress started spraying a rather smelly polish on the table right behind us. A lack of customer care skills lets this place down badly.

Wasn't greeted all that well here which instantly put us off, the staff were rude and unhelpful which was very annoying. Whne we finally got our food it was nice but not worth going back again for.
